Herbert Land Jr. graduated from Tulane University in the 1940s and assisted his father in completing many projects in Northeast Louisiana. Herbert Land Jr. became known for his school designs which he completed in over a dozen North Louisiana parishes.

In the 1960s, Herberts signature building was Olin Hall Dormitory on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Herbert became known for the many schools & public buildings which he designed in over a dozen North Louisiana parishes. Herbert mentored many young architects throughout his lengthy career. Herbert retired and sold the business to his son Bill Land in 1995. He still enjoyed coming in to the office on a regular basis before he passed away in 2010.
